HRMATT Hosts Breakfast Seminar on Ethics, Governance and Trust in a Changing Workplace

The Human Resource Management Association of Trinidad and Tobago (HRMATT), in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago (ICATT), recently hosted a breakfast seminar focused on Ethics, Governance and Trust in a Changing Workplace at the Courtyard by Marriott.

The seminar brought together HR practitioners, business leaders and finance professionals to examine the evolving challenges of ethical leadership and governance in modern organisations. Opening the event, HRMATT President Cavelle Joseph-St. Omer encouraged participants to engage fully in what she described as a critically important conversation about navigating both the challenges and opportunities of ethical leadership in the new era of work.

The panel discussion, moderated by Charlene Pedro, Founder and CEO of Conventus Consultant Inc., featured industry leaders who explored key issues including governance frameworks, performance accountability, technological change and the importance of cultivating trust within organisations.

Panelists included Leslie Lee Fook, Director of AI, Automation & Analytics at Incus Services Ltd; Lara Quentrall-Thomas, Chairman of Regency Recruitment and Resources Ltd; and Joel-Ann Cook Walcott, Managing Director of Persolve Limited. Participants engaged in thoughtful discussion about embedding ethics into organisational systems, strengthening governance structures and navigating the rapid pace of technological change. The event welcomed 30 in-person attendees and 40 virtual participants, reflecting strong engagement across the professional community.

The seminar forms part of HRMATT’s ongoing work to provide platforms for dialogue, knowledge sharing and professional development for HR practitioners and organisational leaders across Trinidad and Tobago.
