SHRM-CP
The SHRM-CP (Certified Professional) is a professional certification for human resources (HR) professionals offered by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
The SHRM-CP exam is intended for HR professionals who have at least a bachelor’s degree and less than three years of professional HR experience.
The SHRM-CP exam covers a wide range of HR-related topics, including:

- Employee development and training
- Employee and labor relations
- Occupational health, safety, and security
- HR in the global context
To become certified as a SHRM-CP, an individual must pass the SHRM-CP exam and meet the SHRM-CP eligibility requirements. This includes having a bachelor’s degree or higher and less than three years of professional HR experience, or a combination of education and HR-related experience totaling at least four years.
Earning the SHRM-CP certification can demonstrate to employers and colleagues that an individual has the knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective HR professional. It can also help HR professionals advance in their careers and increase their earning potential.
SHRM-SCP
The SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) is a professional certification for human resources (HR) professionals offered by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The SHRM-SCP exam is intended for HR professionals who have at least a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of professional HR experience.
Like the SHRM-CP exam, the SHRM-SCP exam covers a wide range of HR-related topics, however, the SHRM-SCP exam is generally considered to be more challenging than the SHRM-CP exam, as it is intended for more experienced HR professionals.
To become certified as a SHRM-SCP, an individual must pass the SHRM-SCP exam and meet the SHRM-SCP eligibility requirements. This includes having a bachelor’s degree or higher and at least four years of professional HR experience, or a combination of education and HR-related experience totaling at least seven years.
Earning the SHRM-SCP certification can demonstrate to employers and colleagues that an individual has a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of HR. It can also help HR professionals advance in their careers and increase their earning potential.
