In the Caribbean, working together is key to our survival. Having experienced similar challenges that affect us all, forming strategic partnerships is more important than ever. These partnerships help us share resources, solve problems, and create opportunities that benefit the entire region. In a world where we face many obstacles, coming together is the best way forward. HRMATT continues to commit to forging relationships through networking and key partnerships.
Coming out of this internal commitment, HRMATT recently partnered with two known entities to continue work to support the evolution of the HR landscape.
Firstly, HRMATT partnered with Lucent Research Limited to launch its inaugural national study of HR industry trends and development. The study focuses on five main areas:
- Workforce dynamics and talent management
- Employee experience and well-being
- HR technology adoption and challenges
- AI integration in HR
- Future of work and organisational culture
This initiative aims to gather vital data from HR professionals across the nation, addressing the profession’s diverse needs that are often underrepresented in international research.
Further to HRMATT’s partnership with Lucent Research, the association, on January 27, 2025, signed its memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Greater Tunapuna Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The signing of the MOU between HRMATT and the Greater Tunapuna Chamber of Industry and Commerce not only signifies a strong collaborative partnership, but also represents the commitment that HRMATT has towards advocating for the HR profession, supporting the business community and providing opportunities for members.
This significant step forward will focus on three key outcomes as expressed by HRMATT president Cavelle Joseph-St Omer.
- Membership
Shared vision is crucial for strategic partnerships. Creating synergy and providing opportunities for members to collaborate effectively is essential for achieving mutual goals. By aligning efforts, members can leverage each other’s strengths, share resources, and tackle challenges more efficiently. This MOU marks the importance of fostering a cohesive environment where all parties can contribute to and benefit from collective success, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth for each member involved. - Youth Development
With HRMATT placing greater emphasis on youth development through career development programmes, this partnership allows for both entities to support each other through the establishment of youth programmes and internship opportunities. Through the establishment of these youth-focused programmes, both entities can empower young people, provide them with essential tools for career advancement, and create pathways for future leaders to emerge. This lays the foundation for a more skilled and resilient workforce. - Support SMEs
Inculcating a culture through supporting local SMEs, where proper HR systems are implemented, encourages our business partners to practice good industrial relations and mitigate against poor employers and employees’ relationships.
